Food Drive Results: Donation to Greater Area Food Bank This week, the IBN food drive project headed up by John Forbes & Dairean Keyes wrapped up. We are excited to share that they were able to deliver 1,258.6 pounds of food and $425 to the Greater Area Food Bank in Calmar, Iowa. This significant effort is the result of the generous contributions from our school community over the last month. IBN would like to extend special acknowledgment to two advisory groups for their outstanding participation:
We sincerely thank everyone who donated to this important cause, helping us make a substantial contribution to the Greater Area Food Bank. Great job giving back! #TVPride

Turkey Valley Education Foundation Funds Respect Retreat Turkey Valley ninth-grade students took part in a meaningful day of learning, reflection, and personal growth at the Youth Frontiers Respect Retreat, held at the Waucoma Event Center. The retreat focused on ways to build respect for themselves, for others and to stand up when others are being disrespectful. With the central theme of respect, the retreat aimed to inspire students through three powerful goals: 1. Realize that they matter, others matter, and that what they do matters. 2. Understand that disrespectful behavior is harmful, and learn the importance of standing up as bystanders. 3. Identify real and actionable ways to improve the culture of respect in their school and beyond.
Throughout the day, students participated in small group discussions, team-building activities, and moments of personal reflection. They were challenged to think critically about how their words and actions affect others—and how they can make positive changes in their daily lives. The event was made possible through the generous support of the Turkey Valley Education Foundation, which funded the retreat, and the Turkey Valley Student Senate, who provided lunch for all participants. A special thank-you goes to the Waucoma Event Center for graciously donating the use of the venue for the day. Students left the retreat with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to fostering kindness and respect in their interactions at school and in the wider community. Turkey Valley staff and organizers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to offer this transformative experience to their students and look forward to seeing the positive impact in the months ahead. #TVPride
