Mrs. Rausch's 3rd grade students have been studying Native Americans and were thankful to utilize the artifacts donated by LuAnne Becker (in Memory of Al Becker), both former long-time employees of Turkey Valley! Included were dozens of resources that Native Americans living in present-day Iowa would have used. Thank you LuAnne! #TVPride

Mrs. April Bril, from Upper Explorerland's Safe Routes to School Program, visited the 2nd grade to teach them all about bike safety. She taught the students proper biking clothing and gear, how to use hand signals, and the importance of wearing a helmet. April gave out bike helmets to those students in need of one.🚲 Thank you! At the end of April our 8th grade students spent a day at Lake Meyer. It was a great way to celebrate nearing the end of 8th grade and junior high. They build fires, enjoyed s'mores, played football and kickball, went fishing, and kayaking! (part 2 of 2) #TVPride

Thanks to their grant, our preschool classrooms received caterpillars and the school library was also able to share in the experience. The students got to watch the caterpillars grow and transform into butterflies, which made for such a fun, hands-on learning experience. We’re so grateful for this amazing opportunity! Every day for 20 minutes our 7-12th grade students meet in advisor groups. This time is spent reading, completing IXL minutes, team building, assemblies, and of course celebrations. So of course the groups love to end the school year with food and conversation. Here are our 8th graders do just that as a whole class. #TVPride
