A huge THANK YOU to a very kind (and very humble!) community business who quietly donated funds to help cover some current student lunch deficits. You know who you are , and we are so grateful. Moments like this remind us how lucky we are to be part of a community that shows up for one another.

In honor of Halloween our FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) student group hosted two after school sessions of science experiment fun in the Foods classroom. Thank you students for organizing and volunteering your time! #TVPride

Guest Speaker Shares Powerful Lessons from the Holocaust
On October 22nd Turkey Valley 6th-8th grade students had the opportunity to hear from Brad Wilkening, a retired educator who received specialized training through the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center. Wilkening delivered a compelling presentation about the rise of Nazism and Adolf Hitler in the 1930s, helping students understand how fear, propaganda, and economic struggles paved the way for dictatorship.
He also discussed the origins of the Holocaust, explaining the tactics used to dehumanize Jewish people and other targeted groups. Through survivor testimonies and personal stories, Wilkening brought history to life, reminding listeners of the real human cost of hatred and indifference.
Wilkening concluded his talk with an inspiring message about the importance of being an “upstander”—someone who chooses to do what is right, even when it’s difficult. His words encouraged students to stand up against injustice in their own communities and to remember the lessons of the past to build a more compassionate future.
Thank you to the Turkey Valley Education Foundation for funding this educational opportunity. #TVPride
