Mrs. Converse’s preschool class had an AWESOME last day of school field trip! The weather did not cooperate for outdoor activities but the indoor activities at Twin Ponds did not disappoint! Students were able to explore live animals and animals that were once alive. They enjoyed bird watching, playing with puppets, watching honeybees, building with natural wood pieces, and holding a real snake! Since we didn't get to play outside we made a surprise stop to the McDonald's Play Place. Kids said it was the BEST DAY EVER! What a great last day! Thanks to the Turkey Valley Education Foundation for the opportunity to take the students on this trip! #TVPride

Our own Winneshiek County Beef Queen, Haylee Hanson, along with the entire Beef Royalty visited Mrs. Rausch's 3rd grade class. The group presented information about beef cattle in Iowa and the students participated in a Jeopardy game. The spotlight was stolen by Haylee and her sister, Theresa's, market beef steers (Eddy and Cheese Puff). The students enjoyed learning about them, getting to be close up, and even petting them! 🚍🐦FUN FIELD TRIP DAY!!!! The 2nd graders went on an adventure to Lake Meyer where they learned all about birds! We took a hike on the trail and bird watched, had a yummy picnic lunch, played in the park with friends, and built some pretty cool bird houses with some special helpers! Every year staff come together at the conclusion of the school year to celebrate staff that are leaving TV to pursue new endeavors and staff that are retiring. This year we say good-bye and best wishes on your next adventures to Kristie Brincks, Katie Fisher, Melissa Meyer, and Maddie Steiner. We also say good-bye and Happy Retirement to Janice Brown, Jay Jurrens, Susan Ourada, John Reicks, and Lynnie Reicks. Thank you for all of your dedication to Turkey Valley! Of course, in typical John Reicks fashion, he had to have the last word and brought the elementary staff together to assist him in his send off with laughs, jokes, stories, and tears.
