Earlier in December a group of seniors agreed to prepare a debate and demonstrate the debate process for Mrs. Holmes' American Literature class to learn from. They debated whether or not cell phones should be banned from all schools in the US. Great job seniors! #TVPride

Our kindergarten - second grade students enjoyed a morning of holiday activities. They traveled from classroom to classroom where each teacher hosted a different activity. In Ms. Koch's room the students decorated their own gingerbread person. Great job cleaning up! #TVPride
Mrs. Hackman's 1st graders and Mrs. Raymond's 5th graders spent a little time together reading Christmas books together this week. #TVPride

Who would you be during the Middle Ages? A knight, a craftsman, a serf? Mrs. Vsetecka's 4th graders investigated this idea in a recent literacy unit. Great writing and reasoning! #TVPride
Ms. Nystel's 11th Grade U.S. History class spent a few days doing a hexagonal thinking activity. The activity helped students review information from their unit on the Civil War and prepare for the unit test. The great part is that not one poster looked the same and great conversations were happening. #TVPride

On December 16, 1773, a group of colonists dressed as Mohawk natives boarded several British East India Company vessels in Boston Harbor. They proceeded to throw hundreds of chests of tea into the waters as a show of protest against the Townsend Acts that had taxed the tea. Ms. Nystel’s US History class students commemorated this first event of defiance on the road to revolution by enjoying some coffee and tea. A big thank you Kwik Star for the donation of the cups and lids. #TVPride

Turkey Valley Kindergarten students had a visitor this week. Merry Backes came to school and gave them Reading Pillows. They have pockets on them containing books and activities.
